Thyroid Disorders

Hypothyroidism (or underactive thyroid) is when your body doesn’t have enough thyroid hormone to function optimally.  An underactive thyroid is common among women and can cause chronic symptoms such as fatigue, difficulty with weight loss, cold sensitivity, thinning hair, constipation, dry skin, and even depression. The most common cause of hypothyroidism is Hashimoto's Thyroiditis- an autoimmune condition where your body attacks your own thyroid. At Cove Telehealth for Women we specialize in taking a deeper look into your thyroid function by listening to your symptoms and drawing lab tests to help you feel better and function optimally.

Hormone Imbalance

Women of all ages can experience unpleasant symptoms resulting from imbalanced hormones including fatigue, irritability, acne, depression, anxiety, painful and irregular periods, hot flashes, night sweats, decreased libido, difficulty with weight management, frequent urinary tract infections, and difficulty sleeping. Far too often, women feel dismissed or ignored when they bring up these concerns with their medical providers. At Cove Telehealth for Women we help women balance estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone using prescription bio-identical hormones and quality supplements, which can improve womens’ quality of life and even reduce unwanted effects of aging such as bone loss. We can help with many hormonal conditions:

  • Menopause

  • Perimenopause

  • PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)

  • PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder)

  • PMS (premenstrual syndrome)

  • Adrenal fatigue

Health Management

As women age, it is normal to experience increased blood pressure, increased blood sugar, worsening of cholesterol levels, and weight gain around the midsection. Hormones such as cortisol, estrogen, insulin, and ghrelin work against best efforts by increasing hunger signals and storing fat in the midsection. There are many available prescriptions, supplements, and lifestyle changes that can help women combat these forces and maintain healthy biomarkers to decrease their risk of poor health outcomes such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.

“After being around her I honestly fell in love with her and the clinic, which has literally never happened. She was one of the kindest and  most compassionate individuals I've ever met. Very thorough with her examination, answered all of my questions, and followed up with me a few days after my visit. I would highly recommend her to my family and friends.”
